TLC is committed to protecting your privacy. This notice explains what personal information we collect when you enrol, why we use it, and your rights. We process your information in line with the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018.
What we collect
- Your contact and identity details — name, date of birth, address, email and phone.
- National Insurance number and Unique Learner Number (ULN).
- Employment details — employer, job role, site and line manager.
- Programme and prior qualifications.
- Equality information — ethnicity and any disability or learning support needs.
- An emergency contact.
Why we use it & our legal basis
- To process and manage your enrolment, training and assessment.
- To meet our obligations to you and your employer (performance of a contract).
- To comply with legal obligations and the requirements of awarding organisations and funding bodies (e.g. the Education and Skills Funding Agency).
- For equality monitoring and to provide any learning support you need (with your consent for special category data).
Who we share it with
We only share your information where necessary: with awarding/certification bodies, government and funding agencies where required by law or our funding agreements, your employer, and our auditors or regulators. We never sell your data.
How long we keep it
We keep your information only as long as needed for your training and certification, and to meet funding, statutory and audit requirements, after which it is securely deleted.
Your rights
You can ask to access, correct, delete or restrict your information, object to its use, or request a copy. Where we rely on your consent, you can withdraw it at any time. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO).
